Design 1 Final Project

Design I Final Project - Cinco De Mayo

As the semester ends, i decided to do one more project for my art class and in addition, i made a lizard that represents "Cinco De Mayo". Sadly, i wish i had the time to make his colors stand out more, but the deadlines for my other classes made me haste this project.

Winter’s Fall

The final project will be inspired by Chinese sunset paintings of the early century. They are called “Sumie” which in Japanese can translate to “black ink” for ranging the gradation of pure shaded light and dark ink into the painted background. The paintings portray the spirituality of Zen Buddhism that concentrates both simplicity and clarity in its art form. Its value was to demonstrate strict discipline and countless years of reflection towards the intensity they created in themselves to form their own spiritual guidance. The Monks used meditation to start off their painting by requiring a calm but yet, sophisticated manner of becoming fearless when you use the brush stroke carefully. These spiritual artists have been using this art form for 2000 years in mastering ink and paint that when put together, they make a powerful composure that releases the pain and energy within the soul. I wanted to choose this final assignment, as a way to release my stress from this semester and onward by embodying my spirit to become one with my soul. This message can move many (including myself), to psychologically use spirituality and nature as a art for the soul and the body. This will allow us to free the constant repetition that yet lingers with the art form.

A New World

A New World

I decided to make an art piece that was close to my heart, and this colored-pencil painting was the ticket for the prize i yet to seek.  I have shaded the stones with color pencil to portray the detail that would be necessary to view this painting. It took me two hours at at time in 3-4 weeks to finish this project beforehand. This piece is just a reference from the front cover of; The Illusion Of Life: Disney Animation by Frank Thomas and Ollie Johnson(1981). The summary of this painting is very unique in its own way but i assure you that it won't confuse you if you listen:

A fresh start, in an empty but beautiful world, pure and bright, it will seek our souls on a new destination which will give us a new beginning. A beginning unlike any other, but is the future of that world which is beyond us and time itself. As in what Valeria Luiselli said in her book Building a New World(2014): "Time is not felt as an expanse between the world and us, but as a space in which we dwell-a place of absolute belonging." You would think that time has no relevance in this world, but only then would we doubt ourselves of the truth. But until then, this new world would only be just a dream in our imagination.

Blind Justice in Greatness

by Nathaniel Dunkins

Sometimes justice can be considered blind or even destroyed, but in my defense, justice is already open to those who cherish it. Lady justice was the perfect image i had in mind when it came to this painting. Nothing about justice can be obscure than to find the balance of hope and salvation that can have equal shares. The eye represents what justice could land, no matter if its fate or destiny, it always watches over the accused and the accuser. The eye also watches the balance that contradicts use of property between justice and equity.

Let. Freedom. Ring

Every freedom has a goal, and yet our hearts don't see it closely. If we are not free physically, then we are not free mentally. In honor of black history month, I will post this painting of mine to extricate the prejudice of black people in this country. Mostly the issue of this painting is to understand that we are all kings and queens who protect our mind from distracting thoughts. This man represents the black mind at his best, nothing is hold him back and he is contempt from the truth.

Use of the Internet

Internet is a nice medium to connect with the entire world. People use it as a medium to connect with other people, sharing files, entertainment, information and lots of other activities that are useful and beneficial in many terms. It was originally developed to connect laboratories engaged in government research, but now millions of people every day use it for anything from sending Valentines to selling cereal. When you're on the Internet, your computer is connected to others by a mixture of telephone wires, cables and satellites. This allows people to exchange large amounts of information, pictures, video and audio quickly.

Tips on the Internet
  • It is a global network connecting millions of computers.
  • The internet is decentralized.
  • Each internet computer is independent.
  • There are a variety of ways to access the internet.
  • There are more than 3.5 billion internet users in the world.

The web is just one of the ways that information can be disseminated over the internet. The internet, not the web, is also used for email, which relies on SMTP, Usenet news groups, instant messaging and FTP. Today, we can send data from one end of the world to the other in a matter of seconds, make online presentations, live in parallel game worlds, and use pictures, video, sound, and text to share our real lives, our genuine identity.
